Attending the Corporate Communications Program in Fall of 2012 was a hard decision for me. I have always wanted to pursue my Masters Degree, but I also wanted to start working, doing a job that I loved. I have always had a passion for communications and a friend of mine recommended the program, and I am glad she did. If you are looking for the best Corporate Communications Program out there, working with real clients and expanding your network, this program is for you. I learned the skills necessary to exceed expectations at my internship and I am now working as a consultant for Hamilton Health Sciences. If I didn't complete this program, learning about Strategic Planning, Design, Internal Communications, Communications Writing and Crisis and Issues Management, I do not know if I would be as prepared to go out in the work force as I am now. This program equipped me with the necessary tools to succeed, and completing the program was one of the best decisions of my life. I will never regret a day spent learning from the amazing faculty in this program. If you have questions, Andy is great. You can also contact me at lindsey.glazier@gmail.com if you want more insight.
I chose Corporate Communications because I was changing careers, and wanted a career in a growing field with lots of opportunities. I also wanted the option to work in several industries. I chose Sheridan's post-graduate program specifically because the faculty have years of professional experience in communications and adult learning.
This past year was absolutely fantastic. The instructors created a friendly environment and catered their teaching to the students' needs. I am almost finished my internship now, and feel confident in the skills I have gained both in the classroom and from my practical experience.
I highly recommend Sheridan's post graduate corporate communications program.
Hi, my name is Tulika. I am considering two programs at Sheridan - advertising-account management and corporate communications. I have an undergrad degree and want to go into advertising/PR.
Does anyone know about how the advertising program is compared to corporate communications? I know advertising has a field placement.
What kind of companies come to Sheridan to recruit for Corporate Communications?
Hi - I'll be starting the Corp Comm program in the fall (2013) and the timetable won't be out until the end of August...can anyone give me an idea of what the schedule looks like. Are we looking at 8am-4pm/9am-5pm M-F...? Are there any opportunities for independent study from home, etc. Thanks!
Hey - I'm a grad of the program and if the schedule is similar to last year, you will have classes 9-4 Mon-Thurs with an hour break in between and Fridays off. One of the days might be 8-3. Get ready! It's a blast and a lot of hard work - but it is totally worth it :)
Hey I just saw my timetable. Looks like I have Friday off. I have a few questions: 1) The field placement - is it after 8 months? As in 8 months courses + 5 weeks placement? Or does the co-op come within the 8 months? Does the whole program (placement and courses included end in April or May/June?) 2) What are the chances of finding a job after this program? 3)Does Sheridan help you find the placement? 4) How long does it take to find a placement on average? 5)
